Mudgeeraba -The Church of the Good ShepherdBuilding a Healthy Community
The parish motto 'building a healthy community' holds the key to the focus of this parish. A healthy community being one that is known to uphold the teachings and ethic of Jesus Christ as distilled from the writings of the Bible, and as inspired by the presence of the Holy Spirit. The words of Micah 6:8. "What does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God", and the pattern of St. Paul's letter to the Romans chapter 12 gives the picture. Preaching and Bible studies are to this end. Though in many respects we may not succeed, this is our goal. We uphold the Orthodox tenets of Christian belief as expressed in Anglican formularies and our gatherings for worship express this in traditional, and we trust, lively style. We are privileged to have as our Musical Director Richard Ham. Richard has given organ and piano recitals in three states, has directed and performed with Gospel Harmony groups, worked as an accompanist, repetiteur for choirs and solo artists, directed productions of 'J C Superstar', 'Guys and Dolls', 'West Side Story', 'Camelot' and 'Joseph', and played keyboard for Conrad-Jupiters Showroom Orchestra for Starz', Galaxies' and 'Hollywood Legends". We do have an 'out of the way' and for some 'hard to find' location. It seems anamolies exist in the public domain as to where we are. We are not at Highfields Drive (All Saints Anglican School), nor Railway Street (at the roundabout on the northbound side of the highway) - both previous addresses of our congregation. Entrance to our church is marked only by a concrete driveway on the left entering Tarrant Drive off Springbrook Road, behind the Mudgeeraba Creek State School; and the sign.
