Father Harry Reuss was the Rector of the Parish of Murwillumbah from 1994 before his commissioning as the Parish Priest of Saint Peter’s in August 2005. The son of a dairy farmer in Victoria, Fr Harry gained his Diploma of Agriculture at Longerenong College, served for a while in Borneo, came back home and gained his Licentiate of Theology at Saint Barnabas’ College, Adelaide, before being made Deacon in 1969 and Priest in 1970 by the Bishop of Ballarat, and serving a curacy in the Parish of Horsham. He served a further curacy for two years in the Parish of Lillington at Leamington Spa in the Diocese of Coventry UK, where he met and married Gillian, returning to Ballarat to take up the duties as Rector of Nhill in the West Wimmera in 1975. He was called to the Parish of Portland in 1979 where he served his time as Rector until 1994 when he left to become Rector of the Parish of Murwillumbah. During his time at Murwillumbah he became well known in the community for his pastoral visitation and fine traditional worship. |

Father Denis Landman was born in London, studied at London University and joined the Royal Navy. He served in many parts of the world, including Singapore and Malaysia, as an Officer in Naval Intelligence and retired as Lieutenant-Commander. He joined the Liverpool (England) City Council, where he became Private Secretary to the Lord Mayors of Liverpool for ten years. He was awarded the MBE in 1961. He was a lay liturgical assistant for 15 years before being ordained to the Priesthood in 1983 by the Bishop of Chester. After three years as Assistant Curate of Saint Paul’s, Tranmere in Chester he was invited by the then Archbishop of Brisbane (the Most Rev. John Grindrod, KBE) to come to Australia where he became Assistant Curate here at Saint Peter’s and then was appointed Priest-in-Charge of the newly formed Parish of Biggera Waters in 1988 until he reached retirement age in 1992. He then took up part-time work in various parishes until gravitating back to Saint Peter’s. In 1980 he was recognised by the Federal Republic of Germany by his appointment to the Order of Merit. In 1955 he married Dolleke. |

Father Sid Rogers, has come to us from South Africa with a B.Sc. in Biological Science from the University of Natal and a Dip.Th. from the University of Nottingham. Fr Sid was made Deacon in 1980 and ordained Priest in 1981 by the Bishop of Zimbabwe. After a curacy in Matabeleland and three years as Rector of Lundi he flew across oceans to the “Shaky Isles” to take up duties in New Plymouth, then to Te Kuiti, and then became Chaplain at Wellington. Three years in Auckland brought him to Saint Hilda’s as Chaplain for some six years before he was appointed Anglican Chaplain to Gold Coast Hospitals in 2004. |

The Diocesan Canons provide that “the Parish Council is responsible for the management of the property and the business affairs of the parish.” It also assists and advises the Parish Priest in planning, organising and carrying out the pastoral, teaching and evangelistic ministry. Our Parish Council normally meets monthly on the fourth Tuesday evening. Members are appointed at the Annual Meeting of Parishioners, which is held in February each year
